WARNING!!! Before you breed to a stallion or purchase a pony please read this carefully.
Stallions registered and licensed in a foreign country are NOT AUTOMATICALLY APPROVED with the NFPA. These stallions need to go through the qualification process of the NFPA before having a breeding license.
Stallions with more then 6.5 % of Golden Wonder blood can NOT be approved for breeding with the NFPA.
Stallions from a foreign country that have been approved for the New Forest Pony studbook by that country and have completed a performance test in that country can be approved with the NFPA with proof of completing and passing a performance test and DNA.
Offspring of foreign stallions without the NFPA stallion approval can NOT BE REGISTERED in the main stud book. They can be registered in a separate section F as a pure bred New Forest.
Offspring of a stallion with more than 6.5% Golden Wonder blood can NOT be registered in the main studbook . They are registered in section G as a pure bred New Forest.
A colt by these stallions are NOT ELIGIBLE for breeding stallions.

Approved and Licensing Stallions
Inspections will normally be done at the age of two-years-old, along with DNA / blood-typing at this time. A second inspection is required at or before May 1st in the stallion's 5th year, except in exceptional circumstances when the decision of the Board of Directors shall be final. Inspection forms and blood typing/DNA kits may be obtained from the NFPA, Inc.Registry. Stallion Licenses and Veterinary Certificates issued by the New Forest Pony Breeding & Cattle Society needs to be presented to the board of the New Forest Pony Association, Inc & Registry for approval to apply for breeding stallion..
Stallion listed below have there permanent approval for breeding with the NFPA,but might not have maintained there breeding license. A breeding licence is granted if the stallion owner is a member in good standing with the New Forest Pony Association,Inc & Registry and has filled yearly stallion reports.
